Unnamed Cemetery #17 off Beaver Dam Road
(possibly Skrine Family Cem.) On old Amax - Doc - Johnson Property
Location:
From the Hancock County Courthouse, go northeast on Hwy 22 for 7.5 miles to Springfield Church Rd. Turn left onto Springfield Church Rd and go 1.9 miles. Turn left on Beaver Dam Road. Go 1.6 miles to a logging / hunting road on the right. Turn right and follow the logging / hunting road for about 1/2 mile, bearing left past two forks to a hunting camp. Drive through the hunting camp, and drive and then walk another 0.2 mile, bearing left at the fork in the road, to where the road crosses a stream. Continue another 0.1 mile and the cemetery will be on your left on a rise.

Cemetery Status: Inactive
This cemetery may be the ancestral family cemetery of Pelham Skrine, per a nearby land owner. However, Pelham Skrine is buried in Springfield Church Cemetery #1.
The property is currently owned by Plum Creek, and we would like to thank them for preserving the cemetery and making us aware of it.
The cemetery covers a large area on a rise, probably 200' by 200'. Few graves are visible but there is the possibility that many graves are no longer visible.
There are remains of an old homestead south of the cemetery on private land, and it may be that the homestead was associated with this cemetery at one time.
