E. Callaway Sisson
From The Sparta Ishmaelite. Sparta, Ga. July 10, 1930

The burial of E. Callaway Sisson, 81, who succumbed at the home of his niece, Mrs. Louie Combs, with whom he had made his home for several years, Wednesday afternoon, took place in the Sparta cemetery Thursday afternoon 4 o'clock. Having been in declining health for several years, Mr. Sisson suffered a stroke of paralysis about two weeks ago, from which he remained unconscious until the end. His life had been despaired of by relatives and physicians for several days before his demise. Though a native of Wilkes County, Georgia. Mr. Sisson had resided in this county for nearly all his life, and had many friends over the county. For many years he was superintendent of roads in the county, a position he gave up because of infirmities that came with advanced age. He is survived by several nephews and nieces and other near relatives.
