Dennis T. Turner, Jr.
Dennis T. Turner, Jr. graduated from Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Georgia. He went to Georgia Tech for a year and a half and then left for service in the army. He served first in maneuvers in Tennessee and from there went to Camp Leonard Wood, Missouri. As 1st Lieutenant in the 28th Infantry, Co. L, 8th Division, he left for overseas in December, 1943. His group eventually followed up the invasion in Normandy. He was killed in France on July 12, 1944. He is buried in the U.S. Military Cemetery, St. Laurent, France.
