About this Website
This website was constructed out of concern for the deteriorating condition of the Baptist cemetery in Lima. Slate and marble stones are rapidly detiorating, and stones that were readable 10 years ago are no longer readable. In the interest of preserving the information in the cemetery, this site has been constructed.
The webmaster is also a descendant of Humphrey and Phebe Phillips Briggs (gr gr gr grandparents), Jonathan Phillips Briggs and Mary Jane Hopkins Briggs (gr gr grandparents), and Marsenus Hopkins Briggs (gr grandfather), all of whom are buried in this cemetery. She is especially interested in hearing from relations who might be visiting this site.
In the summer of 2005, the old section of Oak Ridge Cemetery (consisting of approximately 850 graves) was added to the listings, resulting in 1054 graves now included in this website.
