Maria Susan White DeLaunay

consort of Francis V. DeLaunay, b. in Savannah and d. near Milledgeville
Maria Susan(nah) White was born in Savannah in 1805. She married Francis Vincent DeLaunay, son of James Anthony DeLaunay and Emilie LeBourdais in 1825. When the state Legislature made Milledgeville a city in 1836, F.V. DeLaunay served as its first mayor. Her headstone reads:
In memory of Maria Susan DeLaunay, daughter of Maj. Edward White and consort of the late Francis V. DeLaunay, born in the city of Savannah 8th of Feb. 1805 and died near Milledgeville 22nd of December 1854, aged 50 years, 10 months, 14 days. Her children arise up and call her blessed. Prov.
