Who whilst representing the County

Decatur in the Legislature

December 11, 1827
in the 43rd year of his age.

He was a sincere friend, an upright Citizen,
an affectionate parent, a kind and tender husband.

The Legislature in testimony of
their respect for his public and private
virtues, has caused this stone to be erected.
